Best Hunting Binoculars for the Money: Top 5

Updated on March 27, 2014

Which binoculars can help you the most during your hunting sessions?

If you’re into hunting a lot, you definitely understand the importance of a top quality binocular. It’s almost impossible to spend thrilling hunting time if you do not have a good binocular for hunting. Since you’re reading this post, I’m assuming that you’re looking for a new pair of binocular. Well, spotting the best binoculars for hunting can be a bit trickier than you think. Whatever that maybe though, after spending a good amount of time looking at the available options, and considering many factors including but not limited to image quality, customer reviews, and brand reputation, I finally had to choose the following products as the top hunting binoculars for your money:

1. Leica 10 x 32 Ultravid HD Armored Binoculars

Even a 5 year old will agree that when it comes to getting a really good pair of lenses, it is best to trust brands that have a strong reputation in the optics industry. Since Leica is a brand we all are familiar with, and definitely one of the best camera manufacturers in the world, I think you can trust the binoculars manufactured by the brand pretty easily. To put it simply, this particular Leica binocular is the best binocular for hunting, and although the price tag is quite heavy, not even a penny will be wasted in case you decide to go for it. It’s that good!

2. Canon 10x42 Image Stabilization Waterproof Binoculars

I’d personally go for this particular model from Canon, because the design is quite unconventional, and since there is no questioning the authority of Canon brand image, I do not think you have to think twice before choosing this product. Other than that, for a binocular in the high-end category, this is very popular, which is always a good thing. The image quality is as good as you can expect, and the image stabilization actually works. I’d not say that this one is better or worse than the above Leica, because I honestly think that both the products are very equal, and it is a matter of choice basically. If you like and trust Leica more than Canon, go for the above one. But if you are more of a Canon fan like me, then definitely choose this one. The customer reviews are very positive, but you kind of expected it, didn’t you?

3. Bushnell Fusion Arc 1600 12X50 Rangefinder Binoculars

Not every good binocular manufacturer has to be a big camera manufacturer! Well, Bushnell has an extremely solid reputation of making some of the most fantastic binoculars on earth, and that is why this one is in this list! The quality of this product is beyond good, however, although the customer reviews are positive, I wouldn’t say that the reviews are beyond spectacular. I don’t think you need to worry too much about that, but just saying that you may want to read the Amazon reviews first and decide whether you like it enough to go for it or not. Honestly I think for the price it’s worth it, but I’m not quite sure if it’s worth ditching the Canon or Leica. Overall, it’s a great hunting binocular for the money.

4. Pentax DCF ED Series Binoculars

In this whole list of binoculars, this product has the most glowing customer experiences, and that’s the best part. Having said that, I do not think it can compete with the first 2 products head on because of its lower price tag. I’m not saying that it’s bad or anything, I’m just saying that when you have two really good options, it makes sense logically to go for the more expensive one. As far as image quality is concerned, it is exceptional! The colors are as good as some of the models that cost double its price. If it compliments your budget, then my recommendation is to just go for it with your eyes closed. But if you think you’ll be more comfortable spending a bit more, then I’d recommend any of the first 2 products of this list.

5. Steiner 7x50 Commander XP C Binocular

I wouldn’t say that I’m a great fan of how this product looks, but looks almost never reflect the quality of an optical product. It is certainly one of the 5 best binoculars for hunting, and that speaks for its quality itself. The image sharpness is superb, and it will leave you wanting nothing more in terms of that. The technologies it utilizes are very advanced as well, and that is one of the reasons why it is among the top rated hunting binoculars to buy. Despite this being at the fifth spot of this list, you definitely need to consider this when making your final purchase decision. The thing is, this one is a very good option to own, so do not neglect it.

When it comes to hunting, it is not always 100% about the binocular quality. Sometimes, even the greatest binocular on earth may fail you due to the weather condition or sunlight angle. But whatever that may be, the above 5 are your best bets to the best of my knowledge, so stick to one of those.
